Enrollment

We’re so glad you’re considering an independent school experience for your child’s education. At Wheeling Country Day School, we believe those early years of learning should be filled with wonder, connection, and possibility.

While our website offers helpful information, nothing compares to seeing our campus in person. We invite you to visit and experience the energy of our classrooms, the curiosity of our students, and the thoughtfulness of our teachers. Walk through our open green spaces, explore our classroom courtyard and amphitheater, and see how our curriculum aligns with the most important years in a child’s learning journey.

As you explore your options, we encourage you to ask meaningful questions – about academic support, social-emotional learning, teacher relationships, and how each school supports the whole child. We’re here to help you navigate that process.

We understand that tuition is an important factor for families. Tuition assistance is available to those who apply for enrollment, and all aid decisions are made separately from the admissions process.

Personalized Support

Every child learns differently, and at WCDS, we’re built for that. From small-group instruction to in-class interventionists through our Edge program, we offer layered academic support without stigma. Whether a student needs extra practice, a new challenge, or a different way to engage, we meet them where they are - so confidence can grow alongside achievement.

More Than a Classrom

Learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. Our campus is intentionally designed for exploration, with open green spaces, an outdoor amphitheater, and flexible learning environments that support collaboration, creativity, and curiosity. Students move, build, play, and reflect in spaces that inspire hands-on discovery and real-world connections.

Learning on Location

Our Learning on Location program connects students to their community - and to the world beyond textbooks. Through partnerships with local organizations, artists, and experts, students step off campus and into meaningful experiences. They ask questions, solve problems, and see how their learning applies in the real world, all while developing a deeper sense of purpose and place.

Playgroups

WCDS Playgroups offer our youngest learners a joyful introduction to school through guided play, exploration, and connection. Programs like Little Explorers and We Two are designed to create a warm, engaging environment where children build early social and learning skills alongside trusted adults.

Early Childhood

The early childhood program at Wheeling Country Day School focuses on the child within the learner. It is an engaging centers-based curriculum that matches the way children develop and learn, meeting their personal learning needs in a hands-on and nurturing environment.

Elementary

Our Elementary program is a unique and premier group of classes. During these years, we continue their fundamental education and introduce our students to a variety of experiences that prepares them to thrive as they approach middle school and high school.

Middle School

Traditional middle school was imagined to create a better force of workers in a growing industrial society. We have held closely to these methods even though our society has evolved. Your child deserves more. Unlock the power in them to learn…and to enjoy learning.
