What inspired you to become a teacher?

Of course, the kids. They have such energy and imagination, and positivity most of the time. Sharing new ideas or concepts for them to discover is a rewarding experience… and I hope I make their time at school enjoyable!

Who inspires you the most?

My family… my husband and kids. They are true to themselves, pursue their talents and what makes them happy.

What adjectives would you use to describe your presence in the classroom?

Active, fun, interesting, engaging.

If you weren’t teaching, what career would you have chosen?

A writer/author. I often write blogs and poetry, and do some side hustle work, so I guess I am still pursuing that in a small way.

What impact or legacy do you hope to leave to your students?

I hope that they learn that exploring and trying new things is fun, and be confident to express themselves.

What do you consider to be your greatest achievement as a teacher so far?

Seeing my students enjoy what I bring to the classroom, and hearing them use what’s been taught. It shows that you are making an impact.

What are some of the most important life skills you hope to instill in your students?

Work through new information until you can use it, and possibly enjoy it. Be open to new ideas, and trust yourself and know that you are capable of great things.
