Kids In The Kitchen


Kids in the Kitchen is an extension of the “Healthy Roots” program here at WCDS and is incorporated into the curriculum of each student. Every week, students have a hands-on opportunity to learn not only about food and nutrition but where food comes from, how it gets to the table, culture and food, and community and food. The course is cross curricular to include science, social studies, math, and culture studies. Students regularly work in a kitchen lab where they take part in creating healthy fun snacks and meals, many of which include produce from the school garden.
