Supportive Instructors

A supportive faculty challenges students to learn independently and within a group, with and without direct instruction, and the faculty rewards the students’ best efforts, ambition, and accomplishments.

More Than a Classroom

A wide variety of activities beyond the classroom enrich learning opportunities. Personalized instruction using various methods and materials contributes to the total experience.

Branch Scholarship

Introducing a new opportunity for families interested in what’s possible here at Wheeling Country Day School.

The WCDS Branch Scholarship is a multi-year scholarship that allows families of recipients to pay no more than 50% of tuition for newly-enrolled, rising 5th through 8th-grade students. The scholarship is designed to provide recognition for students who demonstrate promise for excellence in analytical and flexible thinking, creativity, interpersonal communication, and student agency. The recipient(s) will receive the scholarship award throughout their career at WCDS, provided the student continues to demonstrate the qualities and character that merited the award. In its inaugural year, there are three Branch Scholarships to be awarded. Each one offers preference to a geographic region: Eastern Ohio, WV Northern Panhandle, Southwestern PA.

West Virginia Hope Scholarship Program

Funding Available for West Virginia Students

West Virginia’s Hope Scholarship Program is an education savings account (ESA) that allows eligible parents to receive the average per-pupil state funding already set aside for their children’s education onto an electronic, parent-controlled fund for educational expenses.

Those expenses can include private school tuition, tutoring, credentialing, therapies, transportation and more.

Passed by the West Virginia Legislature during the 2021 Regular Legislative Session, the program is scheduled to begin with the Fall 2022 school year, with an application period to open by March 2022.

The ESA empowers families with the freedom and flexibility to customize their child’s education and the program’s rollover provision allows them to save for future educational expenses.
