If you’ve been concerned about your struggling reader, this is your first step.
With hopes of closing the achievement gap among students with learning differences as well as combatting learning loss in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Edge, powered by Wheeling Country Day School, will provide a free literacy screening to area students from grades 2-5 at the WCDS Branch Campus at West Virginia Northern Community College. The purpose of this screening will be to identify learning needs associated with reading and provide a pathway forward with our small-group, structured literacy tutoring program.
Attending the screening comes with no obligation to schedule follow-up tutoring sessions and a transparent menu of services will be discussed with families upon completion of the assessment. If Edge is right for your family, we will schedule time to meet your tutor and begin your journey to reading success. Our program is more than skill and drill. We take a personal approach with each of our students and believe wholeheartedly in fearless learning to change the perception of potential in every child.
